That is the whole sum. $2.29 for the item, $4.49 to ship it, and nothing left over — the shop is wired so a sale can never bill the studio and can never pay it either. Larger sizes run to $5.36 for the item, because the bigger blank costs the printer more — the studio’s take is still nothing. The book spends twenty-four doors on the line between a signal and its merch, and the only honest way to sell a shirt off the back of that argument is to show you the arithmetic.
Pay more than cost
Paying over cost is a separate, deliberate act — any amount you choose, never a markup folded into a garment. Skipping it is a completely acceptable answer.
